I may not know a damn thing about virology, but I know a coverup when I see one. It’s clear now – thank’s to the doggedness of Sen. Rand Paul – the source of COVID-19 came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
You will remember that in the beginning the virus spread from Wuhan, killing millions worldwide. The World Health Organization and our own Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told us they didn’t know where the virus came from and, at least initially, tried to pin it on a Chinese wet market.
This was probably some kind of naturally occurring virus, they said. It just happened to spring forth very close the mysterious Wuhan Institute of Virology. Bad luck for the Wuhan Institute of Virology, right?
Now comes Marine Lt. Col. Joseph Murphy. Sen. Paul says he came forward to blow the whistle on the likely cover-up.
In 2018 the Wuhan Institute of Virology sought federal funding to create a coronavirus remarkably like COVID-19. Sen. Paul said 15 federal agencies knew of the funding proposal, yet no one said anything – at least publicly – about it during the pandemic.
Even today, our own CDC stonewalls inquiry into what exactly Wuhan was doing and what our culpability may have been in it. The term of art you hear frequently is “gain of function” research. What that means is that Wuhan wasn’t a lab that warehoused and studied naturally occurring viruses. Gain of function puts one bit of virus with another to create something new.
Something more dangerous.
Something like COVID-19.
Something very wrong.
Why is our government so coy in its response to these new 2018 revelations. Millions died and a slew of people from 15 government agencies said nothing? Knowing about the funding proposal from the Wuhan lab might have helped us understand the origins of COVID-19.
Sen. Paul puts it this way in an op-ed:
We now know that over 15 government agencies knew of the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s desire to create a coronavirus with a furin cleavage site, a virus pre-adapted for human transmission.
This is a cover up, no other way to see it.
