Liberal news organizations, which means just about all of them that are still in business, won’t dig into the latest Washington scandal because it involves taking a swing at their beloved President-on-a-Pedestal, Barack Obama.
It’s a shame, but it won’t stop this story from getting a full examination from those who still give a damn about truth in journalism.
The story begins after Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton for the presidency in 2016. It was then that the intelligence community began spreading information that Russia influenced the election in favor of Trump.
That launched a series of investigations and eventually a special prosecutor who, after two years, concluded there was, in fact, no collusion between Russia and Trump.
We also found out later that the whole idea was dreamed up by the Clinton campaign using the now-debunked Steele dossier to feed conspiracy theories to a corrupt FBI.
It was all fake, dirty politics designed to drag down Trump.
Now we get new information from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard that shows “overwhelming evidence” it was President Obama who “manufactured and politicized” the intelligence on his way out the door.
Obama and his apparatchiks have been caught “subverting the will of the American people and undermining our democratic republic," says DNI Gabbert.
Before the Trump election, the intelligence community consistently told President Obama that Russia did not influence the election. New declassified information shows the then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper telling Obama that “Foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the U.S. presidential election outcome."
Then, in December of 2016, as Obama and Democrats were clearing out their desks, Obama, Clinton, and their teams hatched a plot to turn the real intelligence on its head.
It looks slam-dunk damning to me as I read the initial stories. The intelligence guidance before the election: No collusion. After the election and meeting with the Obama White House: Collusion.
You can read chapter-and-verse in this news story. And you can read more here.
I don’t expect the New York Times to follow this story. Their cred on Trump coverage is shot. But others will. And, for now anyway, it makes a clear trail to Obama’s desk in the Oval Office.
Accountability is a must, and no matter how it all comes down, I promise you it will leave an ugly mark on the Obama legacy.
Progressives Are Scary
With Democrats puking and mewling almost daily about the “authoritarian” Donald Trump, never forget that the iron-fist rule of liberals during COVID was the real authoritarian thing. Trump may not be your political cup of tea, but he’s most certainly not an authoritarian.
Here’s a piece from Brownstone Institute that lays out what liberals intended to do to us on top of what they were already doing during the pandemic (Hat Tip to reader Mike Zinser).
No matter how bad you think Covid policies were, they were intended to be worse.
Consider the vaccine passports alone. Six cities were locked down to include only the vaccinated in public indoor places. They were New York City, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., and Seattle. The plan was to enforce this with a vaccine passport. It broke. Once the news leaked that the shot didn’t stop infection or transmission, the planners lost public support and the scheme collapsed.
It was undoubtedly planned to be permanent and nationwide if not worldwide. Instead, the scheme had to be dialed back.
Features of the CDC’s edicts did incredible damage. It imposed the rent moratorium. It decreed the ridiculous “six feet of distance” and mask mandates. It forced Plexiglas as the interface for commercial transactions. It implied that mail-in balloting must be the norm, which probably flipped the election. It delayed the reopening as long as possible. It was sadistic.

In the meantime, always be wary of American liberals because they are largely un-tethered from the Constitution. They will snatch your liberty away with one hand and pat themselves on the back with the other.
In Case You Missed it
Epstein Testimony
The Justice Department asked a federal judge this afternoon to unseal grand jury testimony from the prosecution of the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. President Trump had requested the move in an effort to dispel a storm of criticism and conspiracy theories coming from many of his supporters. — New York Times
Prisoner Swap
Ten Americans and U.S. permanent residents who had been seized by the Venezuelan authorities and held as bargaining chips were freed Friday. In exchange, more than 200 Venezuelan migrants whom the Trump administration sent to a prison in El Salvador were also released. Venezuela’s government began detaining and imprisoning foreigners late last year. Among them was Lucas Hunter, a 37-year-old U.S. and French citizen whose family said he visited the region to go kite surfing, and Wilbert Castañeda, a 37-year-old former Navy Seal who had traveled to Venezuela to meet a romantic partner. — New York Times
Tweet Not Roar
Since the 1930s, dinosaurs have rumbled, snarled, and roared on film. But the fossilized inspirations for these cinematic characters have preserved little evidence for any such dramatic voices. In a paper published last week in the journal PeerJ, researchers announced the discovery of a fossilized herbivorous dinosaur from China preserving a surprisingly birdlike throat. It provides a clue that the origins of birdsong might go as far back as the beginning of dinosaurs themselves.

NPR CEO Katherine Maher is back on CNN digging herself into an even deeper hole. She claims that NPR is “a nonpartisan organization.” So why did a former NPR editor find that their $201M D.C. newsroom had 87 Democrats in editorial positions and ZERO Republicans? — John Kennedy on X
A Worried Man
Adam Schiff looks visibly worried when he's asked by this reporter in the Senate hallway " Why did you decide to make (MD) your primary residence for (10) years, not California?" That my friends is the look you get when you're guilty.... OMG Schiff is going down. @Chicago1Ray on X
Laugh a little, avoid soreheads, and always question authority
One of the differences here, Dave, is we now have the actual reports from the intelligence community showing beyond a shadow of a doubt that Obama et al turned the thinking on its ear to smear Trump. I don't think it's too far fetched to see this as treason.
Still waiting for the shoe to drop on this. Not holding my breath. Why? Do a google search on "Russia 2016 election interference" and see what comes up, because this is the "now accepted" narrative.
