Equally Uncomfortable For All
Gender-neutral restroom, Gavin moves home and what the hell is Joe doing in Ukraine?
I used the restroom at a Paris restaurant … once.
And when I say “the” restroom I mean it was the only restroom — a gender neutral facility for boys and girls, cats and dogs, standers and sitters. Come one come all.
It consisted of two rooms. An outer room with sinks and mirrors for washing your hands, etc, and a back room with a bank of toilets with doors for privacy.
I had never been in one before and I have not been in one since. But my ongoing adventures in social media tells me they are highly desirable among the woke activist crowd. It did the job, but I gotta tell you, it was jarring to first open the door and see men and women milling about the wash sinks waiting for a stall to open.
When I returned to our table, Christina asked where the powder room was, and I told her all about it. She said she could wait until we got back to the flat.
No matter what the woke tell us — even the French woke — the preference for gender-specific public restrooms is something that will not change.
Am I wrong about that?
Look What Gavin Do
They say you can know a person best not by what they say, but by what they do.
So, what does that mean for California Gov. Gavin Newsom, pictured above, who has relocated his family from Sacramento to Marin County, one of the richest — and most segregated — counties in America.
He bought a modest $9.1 million home in Kentfield in Ross Valley. He could have easily moved to Marin City, where homelessness and crime is high (by Marin standards) and where virtually all of the county’s African-American population resides. But he went back to his rich, white town.
Considering how liberal California Democrats so loosely throw about the term “racist” to bark at Trump for his privileged white lifestyle, does Gov. Newsom’s retreat to his white enclave also make him a racist?
Of course it doesn’t.
But, you know, the two-faced silence of the woke left is always fun to point out.
This Didn’t Age Well
In July of this year, Clarence Lusanet of The Nation wrote this before the election:
Trump’s appeal to extremists and racists should doom him to the lowest Black and Hispanic vote support in the last 100 years in election 2024.
David Wasserman, the House editor of the Cook Political Report posted the 10 states where Trump has improved his percentage of the vote the most between 2020 and 2024.
1. New York 11.5%
2. New Jersey 10.1%
3. Florida 9.8%
4. Massachusetts 8.7%
5. California 8.4%
6. Texas 8.3%
7. Mississippi 7.7%
8. Rhode Island 7.0%
9. Tennessee 6.5%
10. Illinois 6.4%
Oh dear, Clarence. Follow-up piece, perhaps?
60 days
It’s 60 days until President-elect Donald Trump takes office and all sane Americans must ask: “What the hell is Joe Biden doing escalating the Ukraine war?”
Mr. Biden recently reversed course on two important policy decisions — he’s now allowed Ukraine to use U.S. weapons to strike deep into Russian territory (which they did this week) and he’s allowed Ukraine to use U.S. land mines against Russian troops.
Now, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Russia today launched an intercontinental ballistic missile overnight into Ukraine.
This is a significant escalation of the conflict there. NATO countries are telling their citizens to prepare for war. And, Mr. Biden is back at his beach house in 60 days.
WTF, Joe?

It’s happened again: a work by a long-dead composer has been discovered centuries after their passing. This time, the composer is Frédéric Chopin, above. On Oct. 27, 2024, The New York Times reported the discovery of a short Chopin waltz. The piece, scribbled on paper the size of an index card, was uncovered by Robinson McClellan, music curator of the Morgan Library and Museum in Manhattan. It was part of an uncataloged collection donated to the museum in 2019 — one whose cataloging was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. McClellan was organizing this collection when he found a small manuscript at the bottom of a vault. Read more here. — WFMT

The French also have what is known as a pissoir. No shit. I'm not kidding. Yeah that's right a "pissoir." Sounds so romantic. Leave it to the French. A pissoir is an open air urinal. That's what I would have transgender members of Congress use. Either that or the bushes.
